Against the mafias! Government will set up exchange houses on the border with Colombia

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced on Monday that the Bolivarian Government will set up exchange houses on the Colombian-Venezuelan border.

Maduro said that this initiative seeks to combat the mafias operating in the area and will add new conditions for a healthy commercial activity on the Colombian-Venezuelan border.

“I have decided to authorize the creation of Border Exchange Houses, to combat the mafias,” he said in a joint radio and television broadcast during the re-launching of the National Council of Productive Economy, which took place at Miraflores Palace in Caracas.

The Venezuelan Head of State added that the exchange houses will be installed in the border locations of Paraguachón, in Zulia state, and Ureña, in Táchira state, and will carry out operations both in bolivars and Colombian pesos.
