With the aim of monitoring and consolidating the national infrastructure rehabilitation plan, a work meeting was held between the Vice President for Public Works and Services, engineer Juan José Ramírez, and the specialist in structural engineering and seismic risks, Dr. Kit Miyamoto.
Ramírez announced that the repair of buildings with minor and moderate damage will be executed through the technical training in earthquake-resistant construction for laborers and construction workers in the affected communities.
The meeting was held under instructions of President Delcy Rodríguez, as part of the initiatives being implemented 28 days after the seismic events that affected seven states, with the bigger damages occurring in La Guaira.
At the meeting, Miyamoto presented an operational report, highlighting the operation of 14 temporary landfills for the transport of leftover material to a final collection center near the airport zone.
He also reported on the deployment through a team of 100 trained Venezuelan engineers who are currently assessing homes and structures suitable for repair.
Miyamoto praised the commitment and technical preparedness of the Venezuelan engineers in the constant and direct attention to the affected families.
