“I congratulate the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) on its 89th anniversary. I express my appreciation to the men and women who make up this institution,” highlighted the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, through her channel on Telegram.
Likewise, she emphasized that “with discipline, loyalty, and patriotic commitment, they protect our people, safeguard the territory, and contribute every day to guaranteeing the peace and security of the Republic.”
The Bolivarian National Guard was created on August 4, 1937, under the original name of the Armed Forces of Cooperation, by order of the then President of Venezuela, General Eleazar López Contreras. It conducts the operations required to maintain internal order in the country and cooperates in the development of military operations necessary to ensure the defense of the nation.
It is worth noting that the GNB is a strengthened, respected and necessary military institution, at the permanent service of the Venezuelan people; obedient and guarantor of what is enshrined in the Constitution and other laws of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, with a projection of a universal character.
