The United Nations Resident Coordinator in Venezuela, Gianluca Rampolla, concluded his five-year mission in the country sharing a heartfelt message of reflection and farewell. He emphasized that the organization’s work focused on supporting the Venezuelan people with respect and humility.
In the message posted on his account on Instagram, Rampolla expressed his gratitude to the national government, authorities, political actors, civil society organizations, and communities for the space for dialogue and the trust received:
«We didn’t come with pre-packaged solutions; we came to contribute, to connect, to build bridges. Every intervention has had a common thread: putting the people at the center,» he wrote.
Likewise, he affirmed that he leaves with lessons learned, links and affection: «Venezuela isn’t explained, it’s experienced, and when you experience it, it stays with you forever,» emphasized the high-ranking diplomat.
