The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, offered an updated balance on the national pacification process, announcing that a total of 895 people have been released from prison since last November.
These measures, as the leader explained, are part of the Amnesty Law originally impulsed by President Nicolás Maduro and whose implementation has been continued by the Acting President, Delcy Rodríguez, as a central element of the reconciliation policy of the Bolivarian Government.
A Call for politics without violence:
During his remarks, Cabello clarified that, although the law has clear limits regarding certain punishable crimes, it represents a window of opportunity for the process of reinsertion into the civil and political life of the country.
«895 people have been released between November and this month. Hopefully, they understand that they are being given the opportunity to engage in politics as it corresponds; without thinking of violence, without plans to burn people alive nor murdering their own people”, sentenced the PSUV spokesman.
Balance of the Process:
– Term: November 2025 to the beginning of February 2026.
– Goal: To consolidate peace among citizens after events of political violence.
– Condition: Those benefitted must adhere to the legal democratic exercise, abandoning any insurrectional ways.
Cabello concluded by reiterating that the Venezuelan State maintains its willingness to dialogue, but under the strict vigilance of compliance with the law and respect for national sovereignty.
