Venezuela appoints Félix Plasencia as diplomatic representative to the United States

In a key move for the Venezuelan foreign policy, the Chancellor of the Republic, Yván Gil, announced on Monday the appointment of Félix Plasencia as the new diplomatic representative of Venezuela to the United States.

The announcement was produced after a high-level meeting at Miraflores Palace between the Acting President, Delcy Rodríguez, and the head of the U.S. Unit for Venezuelan Affairs, Laura Dogu.

This meeting marks a turning point in the bilateral dialogue, seeking to normalize communication channels between the two nations.

Towards a mutual respect agenda:

During his remarks, Chancellor Gil emphasized that this appointment is not an isolated fact, but rather the beginning of comprehensive reviewing of technical and political cooperation.

“The Bolivarian Government has been emphatic in building a productive agenda of peace, strictly based on mutual respect,” affirmed Gil before the media.

Key points of the meeting:

– Official appointment: Félix Plasencia will assume the representation in Washington.

– Direct dialogue: First formal work meeting between Dignitary Rodríguez and diplomat Laura Dogu during this period.

– Roadmap: It is expected for the coming months for new ways of cooperation in various areas of common interest to be developed.

This rapprochement suggests an effort to stabilize the diplomatic ties and thus advance within a roadmap that prioritizes regional stability and political understanding.
