Venezuela keeps demanding the release of President Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores, 31 days after their kidnapping

During the weekly press conference of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), its general secretary, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reaffirmed the unbreakable unity of the revolutionary forces in the demand of the immediate release of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, and the First Combatant Woman, Cilia Flores.

Cabello recalled that this Tuesday there have been 31 days since the kidnapping of both leaders: “Today it is important to remember that it has been 31 days already since the kidnapping of our brother President Nicolás Maduro and our dear comrade Cilia Flores; 31 days and we are still here demanding their immediate release and return,” he expressed with firmness from the party’s headquarters.

He emphasized the illegal nature of the action, by affirming that “they should never have been taken them away; they took them away kidnapped 31 days ago.” The socialist leader assured that the people and the revolutionary militancy maintain their vigil and unanimous claim for their return to the Homeland.

During his intervention, Cabello also made a heartfelt remembering of the fatal victims of the military aggression that happened on January 3: “To their families, our embrace and our gratitude for their delivery and the courage they demonstrated that day… to the families of the civilians, people who were in their homes sleeping and who were reached by the shrapnel from the bombs that were dropped on our country, our embrace of solidarity and our condolences as well,” he said.

Moreover, he informed that at the meeting of the party was reviewed the work agenda and organizational tasks, always under the principle of the strengthening of unity: “Always in the mood of strengthening unity, of the revolutionary unity, of the monolithic unity of the entire revolutionary forces,” he detailed, stressing that cohesion is the fundamental pillar needed to face the current challenges.

PSUV thus ratifies its firm position, and calls for a permanent solidarity until achieving the return of President Maduro and the First Combatant Woman, Cilia Flores.
