The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, led this Tuesday an important work meeting in matters of Citizen Security.
The Sectoral Vice President for Politics, Citizen Security, and Peace, Captain Diosdado Cabello; the Minister of People’s Power for Defense, General Gustavo González López; the Commander General of the Bolivarian National Guard, Major General Juan Ernesto Sulbarán Quintero; and high-ranking officials from the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) and the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (CONAS) were present at the meeting.
Among the topics discussed was the elimination of police checkpoints in cities, which will be replaced by a reinforced patrolling mechanism designed to guarantee an integral, professional security, fully respectful of human rights.
Within the framework of this transformation, the National Executive reaffirmed its commitment to consolidating a more accessible and efficient protection model for Venezuelan families, ensuring peace and freedom of movement.
Likewise, at this meeting were addressed the advances in improving the prison system through strategic cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross, with the aim of reviewing and improving conditions in detention centers.
Finally, the President highlighted the fundamental role of the civic-military-police alliance in addressing the needs of areas affected by recent seismic events. Regarding this point, the review of the «Dignified and Safe Clearance» Plan resulted in the controlled removal of 580,000 tons of structural material in La Guaira, a state declared a natural disaster zone.
This integral agenda reflects the State’s commitment to adapting its institutions to the current needs of its citizens, always prioritizing the well-being of the Venezuelan people.
