Acting President calls for the union of all sectors of the country

This Thursday, Acting President Delcy Rodríguez reaffirmed Venezuela’s firm stance on the international stage.

During her address, from the Legislative Palace in Caracas and within the framework of the Annual Message to the Nation, she described the attacks and sustained harassment against President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores as a «historical stain» in the bilateral relations with the United States.

She also emphasized that, despite these offenses, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela maintains its unwavering commitment to resolving any controversy through face-to-face diplomacy, drawing on the historical example of Simón Bolívar in his correspondence with the US authorities of the 19th century.

The Acting President asserted that acknowledging external military power does not compromise Venezuelan sovereignty: «We know they are a lethal nuclear power; we have seen their record in the history of humanity,» she acknowledged before Parliament, and assured that Venezuela is not afraid to engage in political dialogue with dignity to definitively resolve the historical contradiction between the two models.

The Acting President called for the union of all sectors of the country, beyond any ideological differences. She urged parliamentarians and the citizenry to collectively defend the territorial integrity and honor of the Nation against any attempt of a foreign interference.
