In compliance with Article 237 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Acting President Delcy Rodríguez, in her Annual Message to the Nation delivered from the Legislative Palace in Caracas, and in the presence of the sons and family members of Constitutional President Nicolás Maduro Moros and First Lady Cilia Flores, swore to “transform pain into struggle and hope” in order to achieve their release and bring them back to the country.
She affirmed that “this profound pain that feel those of us who love our Homeland, who deeply believe in our sovereignty, in our independence, and who love our President and the First Lady, we transform this pain into tireless work for them,” stressed the Acting President in the first words of her speech.
The Acting Dignitary indicated that those of us who love and deeply believe in our sovereignty “are here and will remain fighting so that pain becomes into tireless work for them.” On her behalf, she highlighted that she makes act of presence at the Legislative Palace with a message from President Nicolás Maduro, “which we reviewed about 6 hours before his kidnapping.”
Emphasizing that President Nicolás Maduro has always been characterized by being a man of a great spirit, inspired by the Liberator Simón Bolívar, “and it is that Simón Bolívar, a man of difficulties, has always been in his spirit. In the worst moments and in the face of the most difficult problems that could arise, he always had a smile, optimism, and a profound belief in God, who granted us and today grants us his protection at every step,” she emphasized.
“President Maduro always told me: “(have) Trust in the people, trust in the communes, in the communal councils, trust in the farmers, in the fishermen, trust in the businessmen and businesswomen of Venezuela, trust in the hydrocarbon workers, trust in the productive union of Venezuela,’” she emphasized.
In this sense, she emphasized that were established, together with President Maduro before his abduction, very clear guidelines to maintain “the production levels of our country, which reached 99% of our supply.”
“It is fundamental to maintain the growth levels in the vegetable, cereal, fishing, and animal protein industries, which exceeded 10% of the gross domestic product. By 2026, the hope of our people will not be crushed by anything or anyone,” affirmed Acting President Delcy Rodríguez.
