The Venezuelan Chancellery summoned the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to deliver a protest note. The meeting was due to statements made by the Ambassador regarding Venezuelan institutions and authorities.
During the meeting, the Venezuelan delegation demanded an end to allusions and comparisons concerning the sovereignty, institutions, and name of the nation.
From the headquarters of the Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs and International Trade, the Venezuelan government reiterated its commitment to international principles such as respect, equality among states, and non-interference in internal affairs.
Finally, was affirmed that these principles govern the historical ties between Venezuela and Iran.
