The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, assured this Friday that the country is seeking to concrete financing mechanisms to boost the national economic activity.

After leading a meeting with BID Invest—a subsidiary of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)—within the framework of the National Economic Council, which brings together authorities from the country’s public and private sectors, the Head of State highlighted the strategic value of this engagement, and qualified it as a key opportunity to consolidate support for business projects.

«This is a historic moment. Venezuela is living through historic times these days, for what we have been through, but specially for where we are marching to, where we are headed, to which future we envision,» she affirmed regarding the expectations generated by this alliance.

To this regard, she detailed that the meeting with the organization is a direct response to a request made by the national productive sector. «This meeting with BID Invest will allow us to address something that has long been a call from our business leaders, producers, and entrepreneurs within the National Economic Council: to have financing mechanisms for economic activity in Venezuela,» she pointed out.

BID Invest is the arm of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group geared to the private sector, created to finance high-impact projects in the region. The institution has operated under this name since 2017 and is in charge of mobilizing capital, granting loans, issuing guarantees, and driving investments aimed at sustainable development.
