President in Charge Delcy Rodríguez was at the Bolívar Avenue in Caracas to launch the Venezuela Renace (Venezuela) Reborn Plan, an initiative designed to rebuild homes damaged by the two earthquakes of magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 that happened last June 24 and which struck seven states of the country.
During this event, the dignitary in charge was accompanied by the president of the Great Mission Venezuela Renace, Jacqueline Faria; the president of the Juntos Todo es Posible Corporation, Aníbal Coronado; the mayor of the Libertador Bolivarian Municipality, Carmen Meléndez; the head of the Caracas government, Nahum Fernández; and the sectoral vice president for Public Works and Services, Juan José Ramírez.
This state policy brings together the operational capabilities of the Great Mission Barrio Nuevo Barrio Tricolor, the Juntos Todo es Posible Corporation, and the Venezuela Bella Mission to execute expedite civil works, prioritizing attention in La Guaira state, which suffered the most significant structural damage.
To finance the plan, the State has an initial fund of $200 million, established just 12 hours after the double earthquake, with resources from funds unblocked by the International Monetary Fund and other global financial institutions.
The program includes a government subsidy of up to 80% on mortgage loans through public and private banks, the complete exemption from taxes on property registrations, rentals, and sales, a decree prohibiting the export of construction materials, and a monthly emergency allowance for six months for the affected families.
The strategy also involves activating 10 economic engines with a growth in the hydrocarbons sector exceeding 9% this quarter and a full supply of food and medicine guaranteed to address the contingency.
