The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, held an important work meeting this Wednesday with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Venezuela, Lan Hu, with the firm purpose of extending congratulations to the Chinese people and government on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
The gathering took place in an atmosphere of cordiality and fraternity, besides being propitious to congratulate the Chinese people on the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, one of China’s most important traditional holidays.
This celebration symbolizes family reunions, gratitude for the harvest, and unity. During the festival, families gather to gaze at the full moon, light colorful lanterns, and share traditional «mooncakes»—pastries filled with lotus seed or red bean paste that represent wholeness and harmony.
In context, this Thursday, October 1st, the People’s Republic of China celebrates its founding, consolidating itself as a key player on the global political and economic stage. Since the historic declaration in Tiananmen Square in 1949, which brought them from being a predominantly agricultural nation to become the world’s second-largest economy and an undisputed leader in technological innovation and infrastructure development.
During the event, the Head of State was accompanied by the Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Félix Plasencia; the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the People’s Republic of China, Remigio Ceballos Ichaso; and the Vice Minister for Asia, Middle East, and Oceania, Eduardo Ramírez.
