President Delcy Rodríguez led opening of the José Antonio Abreu University of Music in Caracas

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, led over the inauguration ceremony of the José Antonio Abreu University of Music, located in the El Paraíso parish of Caracas, accompanied by members of the Executive Cabinet and the diplomatic corps.

The academic institution begins operations under the leadership of Rector Ronnie Morales Matie, offering bachelor’s degree programs in Instrumental Performance, Composition, and Luthier Arts, with an initial enrollment of 521 students.

This infrastructure was established following the transformation of the former Simón Bolívar Music Conservatory, founded in 1984 by Maestro José Antonio Abreu.

The educational complex features a faculty of 77 specialists and a physical plant comprising 55 classrooms, including 33 standard classrooms and 22 soundproofed studios for individual and group lessons. Likewise, the complex houses three concert and recording halls, a library, a music archive, and the headquarters of the El Sistema Research and Documentation Center (CIDES).
