The President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, announced the start of a technical operation to assess infrastructure in the capital region and the central coast. The deployment of these professionals is part of the government’s measures to address the damages caused by the recent double earthquake.
The Presidential Commission convened a contingent of more than 500 engineers coming from across the country. The specialists are tasked with visiting vulnerable areas to inspect the physical condition of residential structures damaged during the seismic movements.
The multidisciplinary team is rigorously evaluating the habitability of each of the affected homes in the two states. The main purpose of the technical assessment is to rule out serious structural failures and ensure the physical safety of the families.
The national dignitary emphasized that these actions ensure an orderly and planned progress in the recovery efforts for the damaged homes. The technical reports generated by this group of engineers will serve as the basis for designing the national reconstruction plan.
