The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, arrived at the Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport in the Republic of Suriname, where she was welcomed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business and Cooperation of that nation, Melvin Bouva, representing Surinamese President Jennifer Geerlings-Simons.
The official visit includes a work agenda for this Friday, September 11, focused on high-level meetings aimed at strengthening diplomatic ties and forging new economic alliances for the benefit of both peoples.
This official journey seeks to deepen a new phase in bilateral relations, which arrive to 50 years of history, through the impulse of productive complementarity in strategic sectors such as energy, maritime and air transport, agriculture, fisheries, tourism, and education.
As part of these developments, both nations plan to finalize the establishment of a High-Level Joint Commission and give continuity to recent trade agreements; among which is highlighted the review of the Venezuelan agricultural export offer to supply the poultry sector and the pursuit of shared technical development.
