During the Federal Government Council, the Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted that 2024 has been a period of notable progress in the execution of projects in the country, with a total of 11,900 initiatives carried out:
«Practically all the projects were executed, 11,900 projects, of which 2,900 were executed between governorates and mayors,» she reported during her speech, emphasizing that the governorates achieved an execution of 87% and the mayors of 78%, which demonstrates an efficient use of the assigned resources.
Rodríguez emphasized that the projects financed in both the first and second referendums achieved almost 100% of execution:
“Both in the first and second referendums achieved almost 100% of execution, that means, President [Nicolás Maduro], that the resources were on time, that the resources were invested”, he explained, after highlighting the importance of the participation of the People’s Power in this process.
One of the most relevant aspects was the accountability process, carried out in popular assemblies by the communal councils and the communes, in which accounts were rendered “on the resources received, so it is that mechanism where the People’s Power really makes better use of the resources and with transparency”.
“There is a very important accountability that reaches 82% and it can be said that this is a wonderful method to continue consolidating popular democracy”, said Rodríguez.
Regarding the priority areas for investment, the Vice President indicated that projects related to water and roads were the most financed:
“We see a conjunction between the Federal Government Council and the regions in these areas, which has allowed for extraordinary execution”, she added.
Likewise, she also emphasized that, despite the challenges imposed by the economic blockade, the country has managed to resist and move forward and indicated that “2024 was a very good year compared to 2023, and this shows continued growth in the allocation and use of resources”.
For his part, the head of the Secretariat of the Federal Government Council, Leonardo Montezuma, added that, of the projects executed, “more than 9,000 went to the People’s Power (…). You have a team from the Federal Government Council facing its workers and the entire team of the communal councils and communes, who are willing to continue giving our lives to ensure that your policy reaches each territory”.
