Venezuela is a guarantor of Human Rights

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, affirmed that Venezuela is a guarantor of Human Rights, even amidst the violent escalade supported by the United States and sponsored by actors from the national extreme right wing.

The Head of State referred to all the insurrectionary and criminal attempts publicly assumed by the Venezuelan extreme right wing during 2014 and 2017.

He recalled that during these dates a wave of violence was unleashed, where hundreds of people were burned and lost their lives, as consequences of the “guarimbas” (riots), promoted to try to sponsor an illegal ousting of the legitimate Government elected by the vote of the people.

“The Venezuelan State acted in accordance with the Constitution, the first thing we did was defend the State of social, constitutional and democratic law of Venezuela, the constitutional Government and the rights of the people”, he said.

He also stated that “there are many documents on the support of the United States government for the insurrectionary and coup process that wanted to lead us to a civil war in Venezuela back then in 2014”.

In this sense, he urged the authorities and competent spokesmen to collect the information and show it in detail to the Venezuelan people and the international community, since he considers it the truth of a country that is still haunted by interference pretensions to break its sovereignty and democracy.

The statements were offered by the President from Miraflores Palace, in response to the report prepared by the so-called Lima Group, which delegitimizes the efforts of the Bolivarian Government to preserve Human Rights in the country.

“The Venezuelan State is attached to the law and this has been demonstrated and continues being demonstrated”, concluded the dignitary during the delivery of the report prepared by Venezuelan authorities to counter the infamy of the capitalist extremist group.
