The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, affirmed that all former presidents who intend to accompany the former right-wing candidate, Edmundo González, will be treated as invaders, should they try to enter the country.
Deputy Rodríguez made the statements during the discussion of the project of «Agreement in repudiation of the interventionist statements by a fascist group of the international ultra-right wing in view of the inauguration of the Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, citizen Nicolás Maduro Moros», which was approved unanimously.
«I want to clearly state that if they dare to tread with their disgusting foot on the soil of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, they must be treated as invaders of the territory of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. They must be tried, they must be captured and the full weight of the law must fall upon them. They must be treated as what they are: invaders, drug traffickers, corrupt people, pedophiles and abusers of women,” he warned.
Previously, Rodríguez presented emphatic and compelling evidence to the plenary session of the Assembly, where various newspapers from around the world link the former presidents, separately, to drug trafficking, corruption, human trafficking and pedophilia in each of their countries.
The former presidents who intend to accompany González are: Andrés Pastrana from Colombia, Vicente Fox and Felipe Calderón from Mexico, Mireya Moscoso and Ernesto Pérez Valladares from Panama, Jorge “Tuto” Quiroga from Bolivia; Jorge Jamil Mahuad from Ecuador, Laura Chinchilla from Costa Rica, and Mario Abdo Benítez from Paraguay.
The president of the AN affirmed that the deputies and representatives cannot use euphemisms when trying to invoke diplomatic sanctions and that, on the contrary, the full weight of the law must be applied to those who try to disown the Venezuelan State and mock the institutions of the Government:
“Sometimes we ourselves, by writing so many communiqués and agreements, end up using somewhat cryptic language; ‘for democratic mechanisms to be used’. Did Felipe Calderón perhaps use diplomatic mechanisms to kill the 43 people from Ayotzinapa? To associate with the most dangerous Mexican drug cartels?,” he lashed out.
To which he also questioned whether «when Andrés Pastrana received the millions of dollars, did he said ‘well, with all due respect and diplomacy’?, or if when they try to attack the democratic institutions of Venezuela, violating the entire order of international law, do they do it ‘with respect and diplomacy’?.»
Immediate arrest:
Rodríguez emphasized that if the former presidents do not have the proper permission granted by the Venezuelan authorities to arrive in the country, they will be immediately arrested, both them and the rest of the crew, for violating the sovereignty of Venezuela.
“If they do not have the proper permission, and if they enter without our aeronautical authority and our security and defense authorities of the nation having granted any kind of permission, that aircraft, those crew members, those passengers, have to be treated as a foreign force that tries to invade the air, sea and land territory of the country,” and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces will act to treat them the way the invaders of the republic are treated.
“On the case of entering the country, that plane will be treated as an invader, that ship will be treated as an invader and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces will take the pertinent mechanisms related to how an invader is treated when he dares to invade the territory of the Republic. Let it be established in the agreement, dear deputies,” he specified.
In conclusion, the aforementioned agreement was unanimously approved by the Plenary after the corresponding modifications were included.
