Coordination and security plan will safeguard Colombian-Venezuelan border

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, ordered the Vice President for Political Sovereignty Sector, G / J Vladimir Padrino López, together with the Chancellor of the Republic, Jorge Arreaza, to install a peace coordination plan on the Colombia-Venezuela border.

“I have given the order to General in Chief Vladimir Padrino López, to coordinate immediately with the Chancellor of the Republic, with the Minister of Defense of Colombia Villegas and with Minister Olguin a meeting as soon as possible to advance in a plan for coordination and security for the entire border, a peace plan for the border between Colombia and Venezuela”, he reported.

The Head of State stressed the need to strengthen security on the Colombian-Venezuelan border by both Governments.

“Many smugglers steal Venezuela’s food, gasoline and money. A lot of drug trafficking. We want a meeting as soon as possible for a binational peace plan”, he said.

He welcomed the position of Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos to strengthen the police presence on the border to prevent smuggling and paramilitarism: “That is why I welcome and applaud the decision of President Juan Manuel Santos to strengthen his military and police presence in Cúcuta. Count on my support, President Santos, and we will hold an immediate meeting between both governments”, he said.

The National President said that these meetings will strengthen peace and cooperation between the two nations.

“Between Colombia and Venezuela there is a historical destiny, there is a historical decree, between the people of Colombia and the people of Venezuela there is only a single horizon, there is only a single destiny and it is decreed by the Liberator Simón Bolívar, to be brothers, to live in peace, to share the future and never, never war or violence. There will be no empire on earth that breaks Bolívar’s historic decree of union and brotherhood between Colombia and Venezuela”, he said.

Maduro informed that this Thursday during a press conference with international media will offer more details about the coordination plan between both nations: “I have a very important plan that will benefit the people of Colombia who live in Venezuela and the Venezuelan people in general”, he said.
