Was inaugurated the University of Sciences Dr. Humberto Fernández Morán

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, inaugurated the Dr. Humberto Fernández Morán University of Sciences, located in the Altos de Pipe sector, at kilometer 11 of the Pan-American Highway, Miranda state. This initiative represents a significant step towards the technological independence of Venezuela and reaffirms the commitment of the Bolivarian Government to the education and scientific development of the country’s youth:

«This university bears the name, the intelligence, the example, the legacy, and the spirit of this native of Zulia state, Humberto Fernández Morán, who embraced the faith of the ideas of Simón Bolívar,» said the President.

At the event, the Head of State was accompanied by the first combatant woman, Cilia Flores; the sectoral vice president for Sciences, Technology, Education and Health, Gabriela Jiménez; the Minister of People’s Power for University Education, Ricardo Sánchez; and the boys, girls and young people of the Scientific Seedbeds that stood out in the World Robotics Olympiad – Türkiye 2024.

Strengthening scientific and technological education in Venezuela:

In October this year, the President made a tour that showed the progress in the construction of this new headquarters, in San Antonio de los Altos. During the tour, the Dignitary reported that the objective of the new house of studies is to strengthen scientific and technological education in Venezuela.

President Nicolás Maduro highlighted that the University of Sciences Dr. Humberto Fernández Morán will have «the best scientists in Venezuela and the world, who will be in charge of training the seedbed that will graduate from the high schools.»

Specialties and careers offered:

The University will have 15 specialties, including a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and in Atomic Energy.

In addition, the classic courses of Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics will be taught. The following engineering courses will also be taught at the University of Sciences:

Petrochemical Engineering

Artificial Intelligence Engineering
