Sanctions seek to mount a file in public opinion against Venezuela

The inclusion of Venezuela, along with North Korea and Chad, in the list of countries with travel ban to the United States, which includes Iran, Libya, Syria, Somalia and Yemen, according to the Chancellor of the Republic, Jorge Arreaza, seeks to mount a file in public opinion against the country.

At a press conference with international media, after his participation in the 72nd General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) in New York, he said that these sanctions “seek to put us on the level of other problems that do not have superior no sense and try to confuse the media so that you, in turn, in a process of mediatic alienation, confuse the American people”.

He reiterated his willingness to dialogue with the Government of the United States, in a scenario of mutual respect, ensuring that all instances of dialogue will be exhausted. “I hope some spokesman comes, or some door may open to be able to tell the truth.”

In response to the repeated assaults by the Donald Trump administration, he made it clear that “If we are attacked, in whatever field, we will respond with force in the defense of our Homeland and our people.”
