AN’s Oil Commission evaluates efficiency of renewable energy projects

The National Assembly’s (AN) Permanent Commission on Energy and Oil will evaluate the renewable energy projects that are being developed in the country, in order to determine the technical efficiency, environmental benefits and ensure that the investments made in this area contribute to sustainable development. This was announced by the president of the parliamentary entity, Deputy Ángel Rodríguez, when he announced that they will hold a work table with the Vice Minister for Energy, Tania Mazea, to learn about the progress of these projects, such as wind, solar and biomass, among others:

«To impulse the development of renewable energies in all their potential is a challenge, in order to minimize the negative effects that are generated for the environment by the use of fossil fuels,» said Rodríguez.

He reported that the Commission will travel to the different states of the country, including Falcón and Mérida, in order to learn about the progress of the energy projects in there.

Furthermore, during the regular meeting of the Commission, the deputies approved an agreement in recognition of Commander Hugo Chávez as the main promoter of renewable energies in the country, since next November 17th, Venezuela celebrates Renewable Energy Day.
