«We hope that the falsehood ends and that Mr. Edmundo González fulfills what he promised in the document that has his signature. If in the next 24 hours you do not deny the unfortunate accusations that you made, I will show the evidence of the conversations that you and I had face to face,» said the president of the National Assembly (AN), deputy, Jorge Rodríguez, regarding the statements made by the former candidate of the far right wing, Edmundo González.
Rodríguez made the warning, after González Urrutia assured that he was coerced into signing a letter where he recognized the sentence issued by the Supreme Court of Justice on the electoral process of last July 28.
In this regard, the head of the Venezuelan parliament asserted that he has recordings that prove the veracity of Edmundo González’s signature: «Refuting this act will show that he is a coward. We have all the evidence of this whole journey, the truth is the truth,» he said.
«Today there are people saying that there was no conversation, that there was no negotiation, and what is this? Proof that makes clear the veracity of the departure of the former candidate for the presidency from the far right wing,» he said.
