On April 13 and 14 the people mobilizes to remember the defeat of the coup d’état

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, informed on Tuesday during an activity with the workers of the educational sector of the country held at Miraflores Palace, that the Venezuelan people will be mobilized this April 13 and 14 to commemorate the events that produced the defeat of the coup d’état in the country (in 2002).

The Head of State said that he will accompany the people during those days and thus he will not attend the Summit of the Americas to be held on those same dates in Lima, Peru.

«I am going to stay with the people of Venezuela on the 13th and 14th, when we commemorate the defeat of the coup d’état of 2002. I stay in Venezuela, that is my decision», he said.

He recalled that this April 11 marks the 16th anniversary of the coup d’état against the Government of the Commander of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez, promoted by the Venezuelan right wing.

«On the 13th and 14th is met the 16th anniversary of the coup d’état against Commander Chávez. And on April 13 and 14 we will be with large mobilizations with the people on the streets, commemorating the victory of the people», he said.
