President Maduro held meeting with former Colombian Chancellor Álvaro Leyva

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, met with the former Chancellor of Colombia, Dr. Álvaro Leyva, in order to analyze issues of world geopolitics and the great challenges that the Region currently faces.

In a pleasant meeting, as part of the Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace, and in which Venezuela’s friendship with political leaders of the Region is ratified, the Venezuelan head of State and the renowned Colombian lawyer and politician spoke about the brotherhood of both nations.

On several occasions, the national President has reaffirmed Venezuela’s commitment to defend peace in Colombia, as well as to continue making contributions to contribute to the stability of the neighboring country.

In recent days, President Maduro pointed out that peace in Venezuela is peace in Colombia and South America, which is why he emphasized: “That is why we are helping Colombia to make peace and we will continue to help it.”

It should be noted that Colombia has experienced a complex political process since the assassination of Jorge Eliécer Gaitán on April 9, 1948, becoming an event that marked a before and after in the history of the country, since this leader continues to be a reference in political practice.

The meeting on Wednesday was held at Miraflores Palace and was attended by the Venezuelan Chancellor, Yván Gil Pinto.
