Minister Padrino calls to defend Venezuela against unprecedented attacks

The Minister of People’s Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino Lopez, warned that Venezuela faces an unprecedented aggression against the presence of imperial agents, for which it calls for the defense and preservation of the Homeland as a sovereign space.

During a balance offered this Tuesday from the spaces of Fort Tiuna, in Caracas, the holder of the military portfolio reported on the Independence 2018 Defense Action Exercise that will take place this week.

“We love freedom and dignity. A kneeling democracy is not a democracy. All of us Venezuelans must insist: It is either the Homeland, or is nothing. We bet on the Homeland, on peace, on the democratic system, susceptible to freedom”, he said.

In his speech, Padrino López referred to the interest of political sectors to abandon democratic paths and create destabilization in the country.

“We must always put the historical facts of Venezuela in context. Today we have the same struggle for independence. We are fighting another battle for independence, with other actors, with other scenarios, it is the same as that of (Simón) Bolívar, that of (Ezequiel) Zamora. Venezuela has been under imperial stalking”, he said.

Finally, he explained that the democratic weapons of the 21st century are the votes and the dialogue, so he reiterated the commitment of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) with the protection of the free exercise of the vote, in view of the presidential elections scheduled for the next April 22.
