President Nicolás Maduro at Miraflores Palace, addressing the permanent mobilization of the Venezuelan people that is taking place in Caracas, stated that “we have defeated the first part of the criminal fascist coup.”
“And fascism in Venezuela will not pass,” said the president, while urging the strengthening of popular unity and mobilization. “I will protect the people,” he said.
“I am here for you and I greatly admire the courage of the people. Long live the victory of July 28. Long live the homeland, long live Venezuela,” he exalted.
“The good news is that the electoral chamber has decided to accept the appeal, to focus on the process, by asking the 10 candidates to present themselves. I will be there. I hope that all the candidates attend. Who’s the one that will not go?” he asked.
The president referred to all parties presenting their minutes: “We have all the minutes. Let the Court and the CNE determine everything,” he reiterated.
“I said it in different ways, I went to more than 300 cities. When I said this I saw it in your eyes. I am people, and I know how to read your faces, because I am people. I asked you, Do you want the guarimbas (riots) to return?. They do. You (the opposition) want(ed) some fascist criminals to come.”
