With the purpose of guaranteeing optimal facilities for quality academic, scientific and humanistic training, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, delivered this Friday the completely rehabilitated headquarters of the Hugo Chávez Frías University of Health Sciences, (UCS- HCHF) in Amazonas state, that benefits more than 769 students.
It is worth noting that among the works developed by the Great Mission Venezuela Bella, in its Beautiful Universities Plan, which intervenes throughout the country in 28 academic institutions by instructions of President Nicolás Maduro, stands out the rehabilitation of the UCS-HCHF headquarters in Amazonas, the construction of eight classrooms, facades and administrative offices, in addition to the recovery of bathrooms, drinking water services, lighting, ventilation, as well as the installation of furniture for the enjoyment of the student population and teaching and administrative staff.
The university campus located in the vicinity of the “José Gregorio Hernández” Hospital, has the National Training Program (PNF) of Integral Community Medicine, Integral Community Nursing, Physiotherapy and Dentistry, among others.
It also offers specialization in the National Advanced Training Program (PNFA), in Integral General Medicine, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Nursing in pediatric care, Nursing in Hemotherapy and Surgical Nursing, as well as Diplomas in teacher training.
The President inspected the renovated facilities and appreciated the exhibition stands of the different PNF, in the company of the First Combatant Woman, Dr. Cilia Flores de Maduro, the governor of the state Miguel Rodríguez, Dr. Carlos Alvarado, Rector of the University of Health Sciences, Dr. Rodolfo Blanco, Director of the State Center and Eliza Figueredo, spokesperson for the University.
In that order, the head of State has ordered the effort to guarantee optimal academic facilities, which strengthens the principles of the humanist spirit and the commitment to strengthen the National Public Health System, defeating the model imposed by the four decades of Puntofijismo(*) that denied the population’s access to university education, privatized health and gave access to a few.
In this context, the UCS-HCHF has graduated 64,910 medical professionals and 60,822 are in training, in its 24 centers, while the Amazonas headquarters has graduated more than 550 undergraduate and specialization students.
The UCS-HCHF was born on October 8, 2014, with the genesis of the Sandino Commitment, signed in the Republic of Cuba, in August 2005, by Commanders Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro, to guarantee the fundamental right to health, free and of quality, as well as to train professionals at the service of the people in Latin America and the Caribbean.
With these improvement works at the UCS-HCHF headquarters, in the state of Amazonas, President Nicolás Maduro reaffirms his commitment to guaranteeing the fundamental right to free and quality university education.
