Venezuela and Algeria expand bilateral cooperation ties

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, holds a first meeting with his Algerian counterpart, Abdelmadijd Tebboune, with the purpose of developing a work agenda that seeks to expand cooperation ties between both nations.

According to information provided by the Presidential Press team, at the “Al Muradia” Presidential Palace, located in Algiers, the capital city of the African country, both leaders are reviewing the development of various agreements in different areas, such as energy, education, culture and trade, while strengthening bilateral relations and strengthening ties of brotherhood, cooperation and union between nations.

To date, 38 agreements have been signed in sectors such as energy, education, trade, industry, culture, among which cooperation in productive agriculture stands out due to the experience of the African country in the sector.

It is since year 2000, with the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution, that the strategic vision between the Caribbean and African countries strengthens their relations with the aim of expanding and invigorating the political, economic and social areas, among others.

It is important to point out that this country is the second nation to receive the visit of the Venezuelan head of state, after participating in different activities, in addition to signing agreements in Turkey, within the framework of the Eurasian tour. A tour with a broad cooperation agenda that focuses on the areas of science and technology, agriculture, transportation, energy, tourism and culture.
