President Maduro welcomes heads of State and Government for the 23rd ALBA-TCP Summit

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, welcomed heads of State and Government at Miraflores Palace, as part of the development of the 23rd Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP).

The first to arrive at the venue was the president of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Luis Arce, who was welcomed by the Venezuelan head of state and the first combatant woman, Cilia Flores.

Likewise, were received the Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit; the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Phillip J. Pierre; the chancellor of Grenade, Joseph Andall; the Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves; the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne; the ambassador of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Norgen Wilson; the president of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega; and the president of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel.

President Maduro, in a message published earlier on his X network account, indicated that “the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) is the community of our region for the union of wills with inclusive dialogue, respect, cooperation and political concertation.” Furthermore, he highlighted the need to move towards the integration of our Americas and the development of the people in the face of diversity.

In the city of Caracas, is being held the 23rd Summit of Heads of State and Government of the alliance. The last one was held in December 2022, in Havana, Cuba, where the participants ratified the commitment to strengthen the bloc as an instrument of unity of the peoples, based on the principles of solidarity, social justice, cooperation and economic complementarity.

The heads of State and Government will debate the challenges faced by the members of the Alliance, the region and the world, and will develop other topics of interest for the benefit of the people.
