The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, ordered the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, and the Minister of People’s Power for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, to present a plan to provide immediate solutions to the problems that are occurring in relation to student fare.
The measure was taken by the National President after receiving from student spokespersons the proposals emanating from the National Congress of the Venezuelan Federation of Secondary Education Students, an event that brought together more than 400 young people from all over the country.
The axes addressed during the debates were: Educational quality, student transportation fare, and the defense of Essequibo:
“The student (transportation) ticket is one of the struggles of Venezuelan students and we must enforce Official Gazette 42,713, we must carry out a communication campaign throughout the Venezuelan territory so that all students are attentive and aware of what the student ticket is ( …) transporters have the duty, and we have the right,” emphasized Emmanuel Falcón Jiménez, a student spokesperson for the Yaracuy state, when exposing the existing failures in the public transportation system.
During the 26th broadcast of the “Con Maduro+” program, held at the Teresa Carreño Theater in Caracas, the Head of State shared with the student spokespersons to learn about their criticisms and proposals.
