Head of State highlights plurality of candidates for the JUL-28 elections

The head of state, Nicolás Maduro, formalized his candidacy for presidential re-election before the National Electoral Council (CNE), in an act that marks the beginning of a new political stage in Venezuela and highlighted there are more than 35 political parties and social movements from the opposition registered, and ten candidates for the elections scheduled for July 28, 2024.

During his speech, President Nicolás Maduro mentioned several of the registered candidates, among them: José Brito, Javier Bertucci, Benjamín Rausseo, among others: “There are already 10 candidates with more than 35 parties and movements.” Likewise, he reaffirmed that the elections go at all costs, without any delay: “Damaged right wing, on July 28 there will be elections, with you or without you. Right wing of surnames, we will always go to elections with the people.”

Also, President Maduro made reference to the “golden generation” formed by Commander Hugo Chávez, where he highlights the importance of youth in the vanguard of the revolution as the new generation. “The young generation, which has values, is the one that begins the new era, the era of transition.”

The head of state reaffirmed to the media that “these elections are a full democracy” in Venezuela. Likewise, the working president expressed that young people represent the “harvest” of the revolution and are the testimony of the present and future of the country: “I can thank you that these generations are prepared, with revolution, with independence.”

He concluded his reflection by warning that the extremist right wing and the violent opposition have no program to benefit the country: “It has been our actions that have confronted a dissolving force that has been committed for 25 years to lies, violence, and denying the rights that Venezuela has.”
