The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela manifests its deepest concern by the events that have been developing in the sisterly Republic of Haiti, and the risks that loom over this nation by resorting to formulas of interference in its sovereignty that include a major detriment on its institutions and the use, again, of foreign forces without an integral accompaniment that guarantees a lasting and stable peace, one that open the way to the social and economic development that the Haitian people requires.

Recent history in Haiti has been the witness of coups d’ Etat, military interventions and violations of the national and international political order, which have given as a result the current state of unstability and violence, which has been the base for armed groups, linked to drug trafficking towards the United States, to destabilize the country. There are no doubts on that, behind this situation, is the perverse hand of imperialism and its atrocious methods of dominance.

From Venezuela we vindicate the need to count with initiatives through an inclusive dialogue, and the participation of every political and social forces in Haiti, in order to work on an alternative solution towards a plan of a political nature, headed to the conformation of a government, the re-institutionalization of the public branches, the reinsertion into the international economy and the forming of effective security forces and an army of their own, that allow to bring both political and economic and social stability for the Haitian people.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reaffirms its will and disposition to contribute on a solution for the crisis being lived by the Haitian people, through the jointly construction of a response in solidarity under the principles of good neighborhood and international solidarity, remembering initiatives such as Petrocaribe that offered favorable conditions for the access to energy, concrete and direct benefits to the well-being, development and prosperity of its people, free from external influences that may compromise its sovereignty.”
