Through a communiqué, Venezuela announces its decision to suspend the activities of the Technical Advisory Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Venezuela, and carry out a comprehensive review of the terms of technical cooperation described in the signed Letter of Understanding with said office in the next 30 days, which is why it requests the personnel assigned to this office to leave the country in the next 72 hours, until they publicly rectify before the international community their attitude qualified as colonialist, abusive and violating the Charter of the United Nations.
Following, the Communiqué:
“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela announces its decision of suspending the activities of the Technical Advisory Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Venezuela, and carry out a comprehensive review of the terms of technical cooperation described in the signed Letter of Understanding with said office in the next 30 days, which is why it requests the personnel assigned to this office to leave the country in the next 72 hours, until they publicly rectify before the international community their colonialist, abusive attitude that violates the Charter of the United Nations.
This decision is taken due to the improper role this institution has developed, which, far from showing it as an impartial entity, has brought it to become into a particular law office of the coup-plotting and terrorist groups that are permanently confabulating in the country.
Since the signing of the aforementioned Letter of Understanding, the High Commissioner office has maintained a clearly based and partial posture, constantly trying to generate impunity for those involved in diverse assassination attempts, coups d’ etat, conspiracies and other serious attacks against the sovereignty and the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, despite the damage this kind of criminal practices can generate on the peace and coexistence of a society.
Against this improper acting, the Venezuelan institutions have proceeded with patience and through the path of dialogue, trying to
conduct again and again the actions of the High Commissioner Office towards the respect for truth, the international legality and the rules governing the treatment of matters in Human Rights.
However, the High Commissioner Office has exacerbated its attacks against Venezuela, right at the moment when the world is witnessing the barbaric genocide against the Palestinian people, within a context of full impunity favored by the inaction of this international bureaucracy, that without condemning these facts nor demanding an immediate ceasefire, remains inert and dauntless against the murder of more than 10,000 palestinian children.
In turn, this High Commissioner Office results very active to falsify facts and pre-qualify situations regarding Venezuela, only in order to attack the sovereignty and self-determination of the country with lies, falsehoods, misinformation and manipulations.
With this performance, proper of the judicial colonialism ways, the High Commissioner Office not only violates the Charter of the United Nations Organization, but also flagrantly fails to comply the obligations contained in the Letter of Understanding subscribed with Venezuela and the 48/141 resolution of the UN’s General Assembly, according to which the High Commissioner has the duty of “respecting the sovereignty, the territorial integrity and the internal jurisdiction of the States”
Venezuela makes a call to the High Commissioner Office of the United Nations to resume the respect for the international legality, while reiterating its will to keep cooperating with the international mechanism of protection of Human Rights, always on the base of genuine dialogue and in strict allegiance to the principles of objectivity, non-selectivity, impartiality, respect to sovereignty and non-interference in the internal affairs”
