Through the X social network the plenipotentiary head of the Delegation of the Bolivarian Government for Dialogue, deputy Jorge Rodríguez, announced the important aspects of the virtual meeting he held with the delegation of the Government of the United States, and announced that two important topics were agreed upon to be developed, to advance in the reestablishment of bilateral relations between both nations.
The first point has to do with the willingness of both governments to work together, to gain trust and improve relations; while the second is to maintain communications in a respectful and constructive manner.
Rodríguez also announced that «the Bolivarian Government insisted that the dialogue must be limited to what was agreed in Qatar», which has to do with the lifting of unilateral coercive measures (sanctions), the rejection of any form of interference in the affairs of Venezuela and establish agreements between both delegations on immigration matters.
Likewise, any misrepresentation about the meeting was rejected, with the aim of recovering mutual trust and that in relations between governments the principles of self-determination, sovereignty and reciprocity must be respected.
