Right wing re-victimizes in the face of evidence that implicates it in terrorist conspiracies

The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, denounced the strategy of sectors of the opposition that seek to re-victimize themselves in the face of the blunt revelations that compromise them to the five conspiracies discovered in 2023.

In a press conference from the Federal Legislative Palace in Caracas, he stressed that right-wing political factors seek re-victimization to escape their responsibilities.

In this scenario there are “strange confluences between sectors of the right wing and sectors that seek nothing other than division” to offer public opinion the version that “it is wrong that they try to carry out a coup d’état, that is not right, but “Chavismo is fighting a lot,” he explained.

In revictimization, the fault lies with the victim. Because we defend the Constitution, it is our fault. Because we defend the right of the people to elect their representatives, it is our fault. Because we are not going to give them the only proof that they want, we are not going to give it to them so that they can say ‘yes, it seems it was an assassination, it seems it was a coup d’état, it seems it was a sabotage to the public services,’” said Rodríguez.

In his speech, the president of Parliament revealed that all the soldiers who participated in the five recently revealed conspiracy events in 2023 were recruited by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in the events promoted by the opposition leader Juan Guaidó in 2019.

He pointed out that he has the names of these CIA officials who participated in this action and of the Venezuelan military who attempted coup and destabilization acts.

He added that “in July 2023 was dismantled a spy network that recruited officers in charge of military units to generate situations of anxiety in those units.”

Likewise, he pointed out that of the five conspiracy attempts, “two sought the kidnapping, homicide, assassination of the President of the Republic.”
