Honor and Glory!” Wrote the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, when offering his farewell to the Venezuelan soldier who participated in patriotic feats in the 20th century, and who collaborated in the overthrow of the dictatorship of Marcos Perez Jimenez:
“We honor the memory of this patriotic man and revolutionary hero of the 1960s, an example of absolute loyalty to the Bolivarian Revolution who dedicated his life to the struggles of the people, his militant legacy will endure in history,” said the Head of State. on his social media account, @NicolasMaduro.
Víctor Hugo Morales, patriotic and revolutionary soldier, leader of the El Porteñazo rebellion and protagonist of Venezuelan politics for decades, was about to turn 97 on February 5. His departure occurred in the peace of his house, reported the Minister of People’s Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas Poljak.
During an interview, the soldier recounted his participation in the uprising of January 23, 1958, to end the dictatorship and begin a transcendental stage in the country’s republican history.
