The Venezuelan opposition always seek to evade elections to go to violence

The President of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), Delcy Rodriguez, said this Monday that the Venezuelan opposition always seeks to evade the electoral event to go to violence and anti-democratic acts.

This is highlighted after the opposition leader Henrique Capriles Radonski said that the National Government intends to suspend the regional elections and therefore has not set the date for them. In that sense, Rodríguez said that there will be elections in October.

“In Venezuela there will be elections for Governors in the month of October thanks to the ANC. Now, the one who would have to say whether or not will participate is the Venezuelan opposition, whom I see every day less willing to participate, as always, in an electoral event, where they have to be measured, with all their disabilities, against the will of the Venezuelan people. (…) I think the ones who do not want elections are them”, she said.
