Chancellor Arreaza at the UN: Maduro has made 340 public calls for dialogue

This Thursday, during the High Level Meeting of the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries (NAM) held at the United Nations headquarters in New York, the United States, the Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, highlighted the efforts of the Bolivarian Government in favor of dialogue as a mechanism for the resolution of controversy and political understanding.

In his speech, the representative of the Venezuelan delegation stressed that: “Since 2014 to the present President Nicolás Maduro has made more than 340 public calls for a respectful dialogue and political understanding, with the sole intention of consolidating peace and social stability and achieving a high level of coexistence between the different political forces”.

He said that precisely this Thursday arrived in the Dominican Republic the delegations of the National Government, the Venezuelan opposition and the countries accompanying the dialogue process promoted by the National Chief Executive.

This Thursday, the political declaration and the action program adopted at the High Level Meeting of NAM was reaffirmed, in which member states of the group stress the importance of promoting dialogue and international cooperation in the field of human rights and cultural diversity in the consequence of a culture of peace, and as an instrument for the resolution of controversies.

“We are a people with a manifest and proven pacifist vocation”, exclaimed the representative of the Venezuelan diplomacy: “Solidarity, dialogue and tolerance are core values of the Venezuelan idiosyncrasy and are in turn guiding elements of the doctrine bequeathed by our Liberator Simón Bolívar and reflected in our Bolivarian diplomacy of peace”.
