Opened vehicular crossing at the José Antonio Páez International Bridge in Apure state

With the participation of civil and military authorities from Venezuela and Colombia, the governors of Apure state of Venezuela and the Department of Arauca of the New Granadean country, opened the vehicular crossing through the Simón Bolívar International Bridge in the town of El Amparo in the Alto Apure region (Apure state).

The governor of Apure, representing Venezuela, expressed that “this is a day of joy and satisfaction for this transcendental step of two governments that have assumed that they are sisterly nations and that, in addition, the unity of our peoples is what guarantees development, independence, sovereignty with prosperity and peace to continue building this great homeland of our common liberator Simón Bolívar, this bridge symbolizes a new spirit to continue uniting our peoples”.

The opening of the vehicular crossing will be from 5:00 am to 8:00 pm, cargo transport will be allowed up to a maximum of 20 km from the international bridge, motorcycle circulation for a single passenger per vehicle and the maintenance of the bridge will be a shared responsibility between the National Institute of Roads of Colombia and the Institute of Bridges of Venezuela.
