All the planning elements that led to the armed military incursion into Venezuela were devised at the headquarters of the residence of the Government of Spain, as denounced this Saturday the sectoral vice president for Communication, Tourism and Culture, Jorge Rodríguez.
Rodríguez wondered if Spain, where is located the fugitive from Venezuelan justice, Leopoldo López, agrees the murders of Venezuelan authorities to be debated at their headquarters: “Does the Government of Spain has something to say about this?” demanded the vice president.
He also asked: “Does the Spanish ambassador know that Leopoldo López has made and continues making videoconferences with the sole purpose of insisting on his plans to assassinate President Nicolás Maduro?”
The incursion of last May 3 was part of the Gideon Plan, denounced by the Bolivarian Government. It was a plan to generate violence in the country and to assassinate the Venezuelan Head of State, as well as other representatives of the Executive branch.
The United States and Colombia also participated in the planning of this terrorist plan, as has referred Rodríguez on several occasions, as has done President Nicolás Maduro himself as well, based on intelligence work.
The American newspaper The Wall Street Journal revealed on Friday that the fugitive from Venezuelan justice, Leopoldo López, has been for months in charge of hiring mercenaries, in order to overthrow the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.
According to the newspaper, López was evaluating some six proposals from mercenaries and contractors, who would execute different military incursions and provoke a possible rebellion within the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and thus succeed in overthrowing the Venezuelan Head of State.
Among the mercenaries is one of those involved in the frustrated paramilitary incursion of May 3; two former American green berets, who stated that they belonged to the security circle of the President of the United States, Donald Trump.
In mid-May, the National Government denounced the links between López with the mercenaries and the deserters who participated in Operation Gideon, which aimed at the assasination of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
The links with Leopoldo López were confirmed in an audio presented by the Minister for Communication and Information, Jorge Rodríguez. There, deserter Clíver Alcalá – accused of drug trafficking – asserted that “the people of Leopoldo” introduced him to Jordan Goudreau, owner of the Silvercorp company, involved in the coup d’etat attempt.
