The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, congratulated the workers of the Compañía Anónima Metro de Caracas(Caracas Subway Corporation) on the 45th anniversary of its foundation:
“My congratulations to my brothers and sisters of the Compañía Anónima Metro de Caracas, for its 45th Anniversary. Today more than ever we must make the necessary transformations to guarantee our People an optimal and quality service. We are going to achieve it!”, Said the national president in his official account on Twitter.
The Compañía Anónima Metro de Caracas reached this Monday 45 years after its foundation on August 8, 1977.
In February 1984, the construction of the system was completed, starting commercial work.
It currently has 67 kilometers of route and is considered the most extensive, important and accessible public transport in the capital city.
