Government and opposition met in the Dominican Republic to resume dialogue


Representatives of the Government and the opposition held on Friday May 27 an exploratory meeting at the Dominican Republic, to establish a dialogue and agree on peace, respect for national sovereignty, the Constitution and the welfare of the people.
President Nicolas Maduro commissioned Chancellor Delcy Rodríguez, Deputy Elias Jaua and the Mayor of Caracas, Jorge Rodriguez, for them to attend on behalf of his Government to this initiative.
By the opposition attended deputies Alfonso Marquina, Luis Aquiles and Timoteo Zambrano. The meeting was accompanied by members of UNASUR and former Prime Minister of Spain, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero; the former President of Panama, Martin Torrijos and the former Head of State of the Dominican Republic, Leonel Fernandez.
