Venezuela participates in the 1st United Nations Convention against Corruption

The Comptroller General of the Republic, Elvis Amoroso, reported that Venezuela participates in the First United Nations Convention against Corruption, which is carried out through videoconference.

This virtual meeting will be carried until June 10, and various institutions of the Venezuelan State will be present, such as the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, the Superintendency of the Institutions of the Banking Sector (Sudeban), the National Electoral Council (CNE), among others, to combat the acts of corruption.

Likewise, he explained that the main evaluating countries are Ireland and Cuba, which have asked a large number of questions which have been answered:

“Venezuela is one of the few countries that has sanctioned ministers, governors, mayors and senior officials who deviate from what is correct and become part of corruption”, he declared.

Finally, Amoroso stated that “wherever that scourge comes from, in Venezuela work is being done to combat corruption and recover the country’s assets.”
