Venezuela will respond to provocations from Bogotá in the face of attempts to violate its sovereignty

This Wednesday, the Minister of People’s Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, ruled that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) are prepared to give a forceful response if Colombia dares to violate the sovereignty of Venezuela.

We will confront the enemies with all force, do not get wrong with us in Colombia, as we have already told”, he emphasized during an act in Barinas.

“Honor and Glory to our FANB,” added Padrino López in reference to the soldiers who have lost their lives on the border fighting Colombian irregular groups.

In that sense, he urged for the celebrations for the Bicentennial of the Battle of Carabobo to be part of a historic campaign, “but in action to defend our sovereignty in any scenario.”

Earlier, he made a review of the historical events of the Battle of Carabobo and the resumption of hostilities against the invaders, ordered by the Liberator Simón Bolívar.

Since mid-March, the FANB has been carrying out operational actions in Apure state against Colombian drug trafficking groups.

According to complaints from the national government, from the neighboring territory the public force does not control the irregular who try to position themselves on Venezuelan soil to carry out criminal actions.
