Delcy Rodríguez deplores MUD register candidates for regional elections and continue with violent agenda

The President of the National Constituent Assembly, Delcy Rodriguez, deplored that sectors of the opposition have registered their candidates for regional elections, without abandoning their violent plans.

“One part of them has inscribed their candidates, but is still exercising violence. The criminal action is imposed again by these factors of the opposition. Others openly call for destabilization and the commission of crimes against the constitutional order”, she said in a broadcast by ANTV.

She recalled that last November had been reached agreements with the self-called Democratic Unity Board (MUD) at the dialogue table promoted by the Government of President Nicolás Maduro, including the making of regional elections.

However, this sector of the opposition withdrew from the dialogue table.

“The imperial mandate was imposed, and it retired the factors of the Venezuelan opposition from the table of dialogue. They received an imperial mandate that was (to make) violence, to withdraw the political action and direct it to the criminal action”, she said in the session held on Friday in the Protocolary Chamber of the Federal Legislative Palace.

Rodríguez stressed that in November “We were in the constitutional time to carry out those elections”, but that due to the violent actions by the right wing, the elections were delayed.

She said that in the last four months sectors of the opposition have fomented violence for political purposes: “destabilization, affectation of peace and public tranquility, with horrific crimes of hate”.

On July 30, the day of the ANC election, the right wing again called for violence and abstention to prevent the electoral event, she said, but the Venezuelan people “manifested their peaceful will of wanting to live in peace” by going massively to the polling stations.
