Chancellor Arreaza: It is a duty of the Venezuelan State to denounce daily the imposition of unilateral coercive measures

During an interview with the “Sin Duda” (Without a doubt) radio program, led by journalist Mary Pili Hernández on the Unión Radio Network, the Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, contextualized how from 2014 to 2015 and later, with the decree of Former (U.S.)President Barack Obama, which describes Venezuela as an “unusual and extraordinary” threat to US security, initiated the illegal restrictions against the Latin American country.

The Venezuelan diplomat pointed out that there is a book by former President Obama’s adviser on “sanctions” that clearly sets out their objectives, which seek to cause pain to the people and thus impose a change of government.

“The United States has this formula against Venezuela, which has not worked for it, which has been exhausting those options that Donald Trump says that ‘all options are on the table’ and that they are running out one after another, that they do not understand the popular movement in Venezuela, the Bolivarian Revolution, the Venezuelan people beyond, including Chavismo, who with much resistance and dignity has endured the shortcomings and pain that these measures have caused in our people in recent years”, he added.

For the Chancellor it is a duty of the Venezuelan State to denounce the imposition of illegal sanctions daily, before the Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres, before the General Assembly, before the Security Council, before the Human Rights Council, before the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, before her rapporteurs and specialists, and even before the International Criminal Court (ICC) where was denounced the application of unilateral coercive measures by the US government for constituting crimes against humanity.

“Our main function from the Venezuelan Chancellory is to report almost in real time to all these organizations and governments in the world, and even to governments that are not friends of Venezuela, we also inform weekly on the events, attacks and latest aggressions against our country”.

“It is important for us Venezuelans, beyond any partisan differences that may exist, to understand that Venezuela is under aggression, and that its goal is to seize natural resources to make them available to the United States’ system of excessive development”, added the Chancellor.

He also said that the containment of the blockade, as well as the solidarity and support of Russia, China, Iran and other Caribbean countries towards Venezuela, arises from those perennial complaints that are made daily “against the wild, primitive, outlaw government, of the USA ”.

Regarding the illegal retention of Venezuelan gold at the Bank of England, he pointed out that the bank is a custody, not the owner of this resource: “This retention is absolutely inhuman, cruel, and criminal, that is why we have said that we are going to take this complaint to the ICC because they are crimes against humanity that are being committed against Venezuela”.

Chancellor Arreaza, regarding this matter, said that an agreement was reached with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) so that this money is not delivered to the Venezuelan to be delivered to the the UN so this body can make the necessary purchases in humanitarian matters that Venezuela requires.
