COVID: Venezuela registers 441 new cases in the last 24 hours

Venezuela registered 441 new infections by Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, 437 of community transmission and 4 imported, as announced the sector vice president of Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez.

Through his account on the Twitter social network @LuchaAlmada, he indicated that «the community cases are located in: Caracas (112), Miranda (86), Mérida (69), Bolívar (50), Yaracuy (29), Lara (26), Zulia (15), Nueva Esparta (13), Guárico (11), Táchira (8), among other states».

“In Caracas there is the highest number of infections, in 20 of its parishes: El Paraíso (11), El Valle (10), Caricuao (10), La Vega (9), Altagracia (8), Coche (8), Antímano (7), Sucre (6), among others”, explained the also Minister for Communication and Information.

Regarding the 4 imported cases, he pointed out that 2 come from Brazil with entry through Bolívar state, 1 from Colombia with entry through Táchira state; and 1 from the Dominican Republic through La Guaira state.

We reached a total of 136,986 confirmed cases, 129,027 people recovered, which represents 94% of infections. We have 6,634 active cases, 6,297 are being treated in the public health system and 337 in private clinics”, he wrote.

Of the active patients, he stressed that “3,044 patients are asymptomatic, 3,103 with mild Acute Respiratory Failure, 368 with Moderate Acute Respiratory Failure and 119 in the intensive care units”.

«Unfortunately, we report 5 deaths from this virus: a 57-year-old woman from Apure state, a 37-year-old woman from Caracas, a 90-year-old man from Aragua, a 68-year-old woman from Lara and a 47-year-old man from Zulia state. Condolences to their families and loved ones”, reported Ñáñez.

Finally, he recalled that since the beginning of the pandemic in Venezuela until today, 2,854,474 tests have been carried out, which represents 95,149 tests per million inhabitants.
